Hi and welcome to the Sims version of the popular TV series 'The Bachelor'.
For people unfamiliar with the show, this is a reality dating show, where a single male is in search for a female companion to spend the rest of his life with. In the original TV show, he had 25 women in a line-up all waiting to meet him.
Each week, one female had to go, until one female remained, the woman whom the single male wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
At the end of the week, when it was due for a female to leave, there'd be a 'rose' ceremony, where he would present the ladies he'd like to keep, with a single rose.
The one that was eliminated, got a small gift of a piece of jewellery.
The Rules
Due to living restrictions, there won't be 25 female Sims, only 7.
The 'rose' ceremony will not be a feature in this challenge, however, there will be a voting process so that the most popular female will remain. (however, if the male Sim feels that this decision will clash with his own personal feelings, then he'll be the one making the final decision).
No cheats/hacks are allowed in this game.
Money cheats are allowed.
CC is not required, but encouraged.
Creating Sims in CAS
You may randomise your Sims whilst they're in CAS, however, once you create them, there's no changing of aspirations/personalities etc. Once created, you HAVE to live with them. So, if they're obnoxious and annoying, then you really MUST deal with it. After all, you made them that way.
Controlling Sims
You are in charge only, of your Bachelor Sim, however, if you feel you need to intervene (bladder desperation, sleep deprivation, hunger), then you CAN direct any of the other Sims to do these actions. You can also use the 'influence' option on the other Sims to cook, clean etc.
CAREERS
You CAN get your Bachelor Sim to talk to and interact with all the other Sims in the house, however, as he is a 'wealthy' man, there's no need for him to get a job. He's there to spend quality time with all these females, just to get to know them better.
NPC's
NPC's are highly recommended, i.e. gardeners, maids etc, as he IS after all, a wealthy man and can afford to pay for these people. Besides, he's going to be spending far more time with these 7 house guests to worry about clearing up and housework.
AgeSims on/off
As the elimination process is set within a Sim week, it is imperative that you turn AgeSim off.
After all, the winner at the end must be able to get pregnant and start a family.
Aspiration Rewards
Aspiration rewards can be used, although they're not recommended.
Seasons
If you have Seasons, please adjust the weather settings to one Season only, after all, it's just a 7 week process and you don't want to have a whole set of seasons in that 7 week section.
Pets
If you have Pets, they are allowed, however not recommended, as you'll be spending more time with your Bachelor Sim, trying to find out what makes all these females 'tick'.
Pregnancy and Children
Female Sims are NOT allowed to fall pregnant. So, if the WooHoo action is initiated, Try For A Baby is NOT to be used. Same applies to children, toddlers, teens etc, they cannot be moved in. Once a female Sim leaves, you cannot move anybody else in. The numbers must be reduced each week until 2 Sims remain, the Bachelor Sim and his bride to be.
The Dating Process
This isn't set in stone, however it is highly recommended that you try the following guidelines
Hot tubbing - once your Bachelor is in the hot tub, direct the female Sims to join him and see how many will turn up.
Roller Skating - Take at least 3 female Sims roller skating and perhaps offer them a cup of coffee too.
Nightclubbing - take at least 3 female Sims out for a night out dancing
Wining and Dining - take at least 3 female Sims out to a fancy restaurant, where you can toast their success.
Vacation - vary the location, but take at least 2 Sims on vacation, getting them to join in the activities on offer.
Quiet night in - this can be sitting watching movies together, playing console games etc.
Rotation of Sims
Please make sure you rotate the Sims your Bachelor spends time with, so that they all get an equal share of his attention. It's best if you make notes of who you've chosen each time.
Jealousy
Obviously, at some point, there's going to be a lot of jealousy and some serious face slapping. That is to be expected, especially if a female Sim has developed a crush on your Bachelor Sim and spots an opponent kissing him.
Of course, that's going to drive the relationship down considerably. However, if that does happen, your Bachelor must try to patch things up as soon as possible. (you don't want an angry female Sim causing trouble around the house).
This will affect his relationship with her and her chances of winning his heart.
Wants and Fears
This is a must in game. You have to make sure that your Bachelor realises at least 4 of any female Sims WANTS. Which means that you are allowed to see all the female Sims' wants and fears panels. This to prevent her from going into Aspiration failure. If that happens, then he's got his work cut out to bring her back to the world of the sane. Also, this will affect his relationship with her and her chances of being his wife to be.
Gift Giving
When a female Sim is eliminated (via a vote by the public), your Bachelor Sim must offer her a gift.
Each week, it's got to be more expensive than the last gift. Obviously, the last person left, gets the biggest gift of all. She gets to marry your Bachelor Sim.
Accommodation
Make sure, when you create the house that everyone's going to be living in, that there's plenty of accommodation. i.e. plenty of bathrooms, seating for everybody, bedrooms etc.
Your Bachelor Sim must have the best room/suite in the house. This is necessary for when he wants time to sit and think about his decisions etc. You don't necessarily have to have it locked, but it's recommended, so that nobody else can sneak in there to sleep. It must also have it's own bathroom en suite.
If you wish, you could have a separate bedroom for each female Sim. However, if you find that the game lags somewhat, then it'll be wise to have them all share.
Also included in the house, there has to be a separate dining room and expansive kitchen
Money is no object (use the motherlode cheat here), so decorate lavishly.
As long as there's plenty of room for your Sims to move about, without getting stuck and screaming the place down, any decor will be fine.
